InPractice
and the Anglia Support Partnership are
pleased to announce the launch of arc,
a new online software package for investigating
incidents in healthcare settings.
The product is the result of a joint
initiative between InPractice, a medico-legal
training company, and Anglia Support
Partnership, an NHS organisation.
arc is the product of a year-long project
to create an online system that will
help healthcare professionals investigate
incidents, complaints and human resources
issues, using root cause analysis.
Root cause analysis is a process whereby
an incident is investigated to try and
find the systems failures that led to
it occurring, rather than looking at
whether individuals are to blame. Once
an incident has been investigated in
this way, safeguards can be put in place
to try and stop a similar incident occurring
in the future.
arc takes root cause analysis tools
and places them in a software package
that also helps to store information,
provide email prompts regarding time
limits, provides templates for statements
and interviews, and produces a report.

arc
will, therefore, help staff to save
time when running investigations by
automating many of the time consuming
elements. It will also help an organisation
produce consistent reports to aid
trend analysis and risk management.
The initial one-year licence costs
under £6000, and includes set-up
costs, maintenance, a help line and
a one-day training. Subsequent one-year
licences are under £3000.

software, or to find out more
